Meet our team

Heidi Shalek, Founder

Heidi has worked in the fitness industry for over 18 years as a strength coach, group exercise coordinator, program manager, cycling instructor and gym owner. What few people know is that her first career, over 25 years ago, was a barista.

She started her first company, The Training Room, in 2009 with the goal of offering personalized fitness services to the Somerville community without a traditional gym membership. After a decade in business, the birth of her son in 2017, and the expansion of The Training Room to a third location in 2018, Heidi sold the TR to her then business partner in order to focus on building a fitness community closer to home - Lexington, MA. She currently owns Movement Workshop, a strength and conditioning facility located on the Lexington/Burlington line. MW is an extension of her original vision with an even greater emphasis on injury prevention and lifelong performance - integrating strength training, physical therapy and movement education.

As the Movement Workshop community continued to expand with the help of head coach and physical therapist Brad Carney, she looked for space to grow the community, foster connections, and explore even more pathways to promote health and well-being - welcome to House 403.

Stephen Strangio, Barista & Strength Coach

Stephen joined the House 403 team as an extension of his role at Movement Workshop as a Certified Functional Strength Coach. His passion for helping others to move well and feel better at the gym expanded his connection to the Movement Workshop community and sparked his interest in building community at House 403.

A coffee enthusiast and wellness advocate, Stephen graduated from Endicott College with a degree in Business Management in 2020. He merges his appreciation for a well-crafted espresso with his creativity and ability to connect with people in his role as a barista at House 403.

During his free time you can find him on the golf course, attending concerts, and relaxing with friends.

Ginny Clement, Stylist

With over 30 years of experience in the beauty industry, Virginia (Ginny) Clement is know for her precision hair-cutting techniques and expertise in color services. She began her career as a licensed esthetician, working alongside some of Lexington’s top salon operators. Under the mentorship of Gino of Italy, her passion for hairstyling deepened, and she was inspired to refine her craft and attend Blaine Cosmetology School to further her training.

From 2006 to 2012, Ginny owned and operated Salon Red in Lexington, MA, where she built a loyal clientele through her meticulous attention to detail and commitment to creating flattering, well-executed styles. She specializes in Goldwell color services and is introducing Areté Color and haircare products to her clients as a cleaner, greener option at House 403.

Ginny’s approach to hair care is rooted in ensuring each cut and color is tailored to enhance her client’s individual style. With a strong emphasis on touch, she incorporates a relaxing scalp and neck massage into her services, elevating the salon experience. Dedicated to precision and innovation, Ginny continues to bring skill, creativity and a little sunshine to every client she works with.

Jill Rodgers, Yoga Instructor

Jill is an E-RYT 500 with over 4,000 teaching hours under her belt. She was first certified in 2016 by O2 Yoga (Mimi Loureiro) and received her advanced teacher training in 2022 through Boston Yoga School and JP Centre Yoga (Ame Wren and Daniel Max). Jill loves being a student and examining the craft of yoga. Her continued studies usually focus on the anatomy and mechanics of yoga, and she strives to convey that knowledge during practice to help students build a better understanding of their own bodies. She has also completed special training in trauma-informed yoga (from Firefly International) and prenatal/postnatal yoga (from Five Points Yoga). Jill is also a Continuing Education Provider through Yoga Alliance (YACEP), able to issue CEUs to fellow teachers.

Jill’s style is straightforward and encouraging, resulting in a coherent and creative class for her participants. She seeks to create a warm and welcoming space for practitioners of all levels, and her classes are often inspired by the structure and shapes found in the Ashtanga system, usually centered around an area or action of the body. She often partners strength and mobility work, exploring ways to reset the mind-body connection and infuse a sense of play into her class.
